Use of AI & Automated Processing
IAM uses artificial intelligence and automated tools to support administrative tasks, clinical decision support, and document processing. Examples include scheduling assistance, preliminary lab result review, and drafting of care communications. All treatment decisions, prescriptions, and clinical judgments are made exclusively by Dr. William Blackshear or licensed clinical staff. Human oversight is maintained at all times over any AI-assisted process that affects your care.
Information Sharing
We share your information only as necessary to provide your care and operate our practice:
- Dr. William Blackshear and IAM clinical and administrative staff involved in your care.
- Compounding pharmacies and clinical laboratories that fulfill your prescriptions and lab orders.
- Stripe, our payment processor, for billing and fraud prevention.
- Government authorities or law enforcement as required by law, court order, or legal process.
We do not sell your personal or health information to any third party.
Data Security
We implement encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and other technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain health information for a minimum of seven (7) years from the date of your last visit or as otherwise required by applicable law. Payment records are retained as required for tax and legal compliance purposes.
Your Rights

- Access a copy of your personal and health information we hold.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.

Illinois Residents
IAM acknowledges the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”). We do not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information such as fingerprints, retina scans, or facial geometry from our patients or website visitors.
